Franco Fagioli debuts in the title role of Handel’s rare pasticcio Oreste with Il pomo d’oro in Moscow this week. The concert performance features an all-star cast including Julia Lezhneva, Dilyara Idrisova, Francesca Ascioti, Krystian Adam and Biagio Pizzuti. Dmitry Sinkovsky conducts the performance which takes place on Friday 16 April at the Tchaikovsky Concert Hall.
Audiences in France and Germany will have the opportunity to hear Franco’s Oreste in the summer as the tour continues with performances in Essen (13 June), at the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées (14 June) and in Toulouse (1 July), with Maxim Emelyanychev on the podium. Until then the opera’s showstopping aria, “Agitato da fiere tempeste”, can be sampled on Franco’s Handel album, also with il pomo d’oro.
